Glimmer : A personal and shared exploration of queerness

Glimmer is a new trans-disciplinary, concert-length work by Thierry Tidrow that explores the many layers and interpretations of queerness, both within society and through diverse personal experiences. Commissioned by NMC, this 60-minute piece marks a significant shift as it brings together text, music, and staging organically created by an all-queer team of performers and musicians.

Drawing on Tidrow’s extensive experience from operatic and theatrical projects in Germany, this work is tailored for a North American context, focusing on themes that have always been central to his artistic practice and personal identity. Through a series of workshops, the narrative and text will be shaped collaboratively to create a piece that is both intimate and autobiographical.
